General Notes: After being born in Geraldton in 1899, Daisy lived her early life around the goldfields areas of Murchison East, Youanmi, Mt Magnet and various other places in that general area of WA.
Daisy travelled to Melbourne for her sister Ethel's wedding to Jack Fisher. She had her own dressmaking business in Bell St Coburg, on the north side just on the railway side of Sydney Rd. She spent the rest of her life in Coburg, marrying Tom Howe and raising her family.
After Tom's death in 1943, she persisted in pursuing the Repatriation Dept to gain recognition that Tom's death was at least in part due to the gas exposure he received in Europe during the War. Eventually she won her battle. Previously she was forced by economic circumstances to take on dress making from home as well as contracting the production of bed linen in her home. When she gained the war widows' pension she was better able to live her life bringing up her two sons.
